For the next 3 days after landing, practice these simple ‘yang’ activities to reset your body clock to the local time schedule and clear away the ‘yin’ energy accumulated during flying.
Take a walk in bright daylight
Nothing like stepping outdoors for some fresh air, soaking up sunshine to reset your body clock to the local time. Follow the daylight as much as possible and stay awake during the day time, stretching your bedtime until after dark. This will help your body produce the necessary hormones at the right time to stay alert and induce sleep when needed.
Drink up and eat fresh
Drink plenty of filtered water and eat light, fresh and nutritionally balanced meals to rehydrate and cleanse your body after a long haul flight.
You can add to your water a drop or two of your favourite food grade essential oils: Citrus oils such as Mandarin, Grapefruit or Lemon are perfect to boost vitamin C intake and support detoxification, whilst Peppermint or Ginger are my go-to choices to help reduce bloating and readjust the digestive cycle to the local time schedule.
