Progurt Probiotic for tough gut!

About Progurt & Probiotic

To understand how beneficial Progurt probiotic can be for our overall health let’s consider why a healthy digestive system is so important to our longevity.

Did you know that the gastrointestinal tract is responsible for 70% of the immune system?

The surface area of the digestive tract is estimated to be the surface area of a football field. With such a large exposure, the immune system must work hard to prevent pathogens from entering into blood and lymph.

The human digestive system contains over 1000 different species of micro-organisms

On average, an adult human carries about 3 to 4 kg of bacterial gut flora. This represents an enormous number of bacteria. The reason we have so many bacteria inside us is because we require them for many beneficial actions within the body.

Health-enhancing intestinal bacteria serve to prevent the overgrowth of potentially harmful bacteria in the gut.

These two types of bacteria compete for space and “food,” as there are limited resources within the intestinal tract. A ratio of 80-85% beneficial to 15-20% potentially harmful bacteria generally is considered normal within the intestines. Microorganisms also are kept at bay by an extensive immune system comprising the gut-associated lymphoid tissue.

What is Probiotic?

Probiotics are friendly bacteria that we need for good health and vitality.

The word probiotic actually means ‘for life’: pro ‘for’ and bios ‘life’. Probiotics beneficially affect humans by improving the balance of flora in the digestive system; they stimulate the growth of good bacteria in your digestive track to achieve a healthy balance between the good and bad bacteria. In doing so probiotic supports the body’s natural digestive functions, cleansing and detoxing functions as well as immune functions.

Why Progurt?

Considering that 70% of your immune system is contained in your guts, this means that in order to retrieve or maintain a good health, you need a good digestion and nutrients absorption, you need to reduce the ‘bad’ bacteria, stimulate a good gut flora and enhance the natural waste elimination process within your digestive tract!

Progurt will help restore a healthy ratio between the potentially harmful bacteria and the beneficial bacteria.

With 1 Trillion Colony Forming Units (CFU) beneficial bacteria capability per sachet, Progurt is the MOST POTENT PROBIOTIC on the market. Made exclusively from natural ingredients, Progurt 1000 times more probiotic than your average probiotic capsule. Progurt is Lactose Free, Soy Free, Gluten Free and Vegan Friendly.

“I like that it is simple and easy to use, doesn’t require refrigeration, is safe to use by children (12 months and over), is convenient for travel, has very little taste, and can be incubated as your very own home-made probiotic yogurt”

My Progurt journey

I was recommended Progurt years ago by my naturopath in NSW as the key to restore a weakened immune system and to fight constant allergy symptoms in particular around pets, which were worsen by the addition of a new Bengal kitten to our family at the time!

Following a desensitisation homeopathic remedy and a good detox program to cleanse my digestive system, I started eating incubated Progurt twice a day and it has worked wonders!  I own a cat, a dog and breed kittens! I still to this day regularly eat a Progurt yogurt for breakfast, or as a snack in the afternoon when I feel my energy levels are going low. I find Progurt a really healthy pick me up.

The kids love their organic probiotic yogurt Progurt with a sprinkle of raw sugar and my husband eats it with a spoon full of home made jam. And when I travel and cannot incubate the yogurt I simply have a Progurt sachet in a glass of water every 2 or 3 days.

I use organic milk to make my Progurt yogurt; long life milk is recommended but I have also used fresh organic milk very successfully. Aldi’s organic full cream milk is my latest one of choice. The better quality milk you use the tastier the yogurts. Progurt yogurt has a lovely delicate and nutty flavour, naturally ‘sweet’ -even though it is a plain yogurt of course. If you like your yogurt tangy, simply incubate it for longer (up to 24h).

Progurt contains multiple-strains of Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) & Bifido Bacteria of human origin, bio-identical to those found in a healthy human gut. Main stream probiotic yogurts usually contain strains that are derived from bovine origins, which means they will NOT colonise a human gut and will provide no benefit. Progurt CFU will!

If you already have a yogurt maker, don’t throw it away! You can use any yogurt maker to incubate Progurt, as long as your yogurt maker reaches 43 degrees Celsius for incubation. The Progurt incubator is very slick, it looks good and it is reusable: you can use it for incubating other brands of yogurt powders or even kefir! So if you don’t have a yogurt maker yet, I would definitely consider the Progurt Incubator.
